Trekking to Annapurna circuit and Annapurna region is one of the most selected trekking routes in Nepal. It is really an amazing and thrilling adventure vacation trip leading to the lap of the Mt. Annapurna.

One of the main important reasons to choose the trekking in Annapurna Circuit and Annapurna region is that it is drier in the Annapurna region than in the Everest region as it receives less rainfall in comparison to the Everest region. So, you can opt to choose this trekking route at any time of the year in any season. We also do have some shorter treks in this region like Hike to Poon Hill, Hike to Ghandruk, etc. During the night time on the eastern region of the Annapurna massif, there are heavy downpours but for a shorter duration in the months of June, July, and August. Otherwise, the days are relatively dry and the skies are drier. While at Manang, Jomsom, Lukla, we receive the rainfall frequently.

Even though the Annapurna circuit receives scanty rainfall, it is enough for making the roads muddy and slippery. The advantage of it is the vehicles are off the road but the disadvantage is the trail is slippery to walk. It is advisable to trek in Annapurna circuit and Annapurna massifs during February, May, and September i.e. Summer season. If you can muddle a little bit with the rainfall, this is the time you can trek. As during this time, the trails are empty and the surrounding is quite quiet. The less humidity and the cooler temperature are also to be considered in these Summer Monsoon.

While during Winter season, the western part of Annapurna Circuit and Annapurna region are much colder and challenging. The temperature ranges from –5°C to 5°C. The Annapurna Circuit from December to February is usually closed for the trekking for several months in Winter season as there are snow falls and the trekkers or travelers need a warm, heavy trekking sleeping bag. Winter season is always exciting but also it is very important to take care of your health. One must be physically fit enough to cope with the alpine climate and get ready to enjoy the chilling Annapurna massif and Annapurna circuit.
