The preferred months for the Mardi Himal Trek are September to December and February to April. During August and early September, there is a possibility of downpours and avalanche. You will arrive today at Tribhuwan International Airport. The representative of Step On Himalaya will welcome you at the arrival gate. You will then be taken to the hotel and after checking in; you can rest for the day. No, any activities planned today but you can roam around the local markets. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Your guide will take you to the bus station to catch the tourist bus to Pokhara in the early morning at about 6.30 am. The scenic drive is rewarding with the amazing views of the countryside, rivers, forests, waterfalls and the majestic Himalayas. As soon as you arrive at Pokhara, you will check into the hotel and rest. By evening time, you can do boating, cycling or just roam around the city. Stay overnight at the hotel with breakfast included.
You will drive to Phedi today and then trek to Pothana. It will take about 4 – 5 hours to reach there. Stay overnight in a tea house or guest house including all 3 meals.
After taking early morning breakfast, you will trek to Forest Camp at Kokar. Then you will arrive at the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek and pass through the dense forest of Rhododendron, Oak, Maple, and Hemlock. After reaching Kokar, you will stay at the lodges like home-stay. Today’s destination is to reach Low Camp passing through the forest of rhododendrons and oaks. There are two basic lodges available here i.e. one is with a dining room with the open fire. The trek from Low camp to High camp will take about 4 – 5 hours on foot. The trail offers the amazing views of the Mt. Hiunchuli and Mt. Annapurna south. Continuing the walk along the ridge of Mardi Himal, you will pass through small settlements. If you are lucky, you might encounter with the colorful Danfe birds. The lodges at the High camp are much larger and better than those at Low camp and Forest camp. There is a dining room with a heater. You order your food at least 30 – 45 minutes before so that you can have your food on time. Stay overnight with all 3 meals included.
The destination today is to reach the Upper viewpoint. You will wake up early for the beautiful sunrise view of the Himalayas. You will walk along the ridge towards the Mardi Himal. It is a well-established route with some steep roads. You can see the cattle, goats, sheep, etc. on the way. After walking for about 3 – 4 hours, you will reach the Upper View Point at about a height of 4200m. From here, you can enjoy the spectacular views of Mt. Hiunchuli, Mt. Annapurna South, Mt. Machhapuchhre and other peaks. Stay overnight with all 3 meals included.
You will reach Siding village today after walking for about 6 hours from the Upper viewpoint. Siding is a beautiful village. You will stay in the tea houses like at home. Stay overnight with all 3 meals included.
You will trek down to Lumre from Siding village after having breakfast. On the way, you come across many villages like Kalimati, Ghalel, etc. The local people are mostly Brahmin and Gurung here. Upon arrival at Lumre, you will take a jeep to reach Pokhara. The drive is for about 2 hours. Stay overnight with all breakfast and lunch included.
Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu will take about 6 – 7hours by tourist bus. After arriving at Kathmandu, you will be taken to the hotel with breakfast included.
Farewell day of the trek. You will reach the Tribhuwan International Airport at least before 3 hours of the flight. A representative from Step On Himalaya will escort you to the airport. Have a safe flight.
